WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS? – OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRADITIONAL CRAFTS VILLAGES IN VIETNAM?
According to the Vietnam Craft Village Association, the country has about 2,017 traditional craft villages with 11 million workers. However, many of these villages are in danger of being lost. There are many reasons, partly because handmade products are no longer competitive with industrial products.
Craft villages across the country have been creating hundreds of different lines of handicrafts and goods, crystallizing Vietnamese wisdom and talented hands of thousands of years of civilization. But due to many different reasons, many craft villages have either disappeared or operated in moderation.
Another important reason to mention is that the preceding generations seem to be no longer interested in traditional craft villages, the hereditary factor gradually disappears, the craft village also becomes weak before the market whirlwind.
Not only craft villages but also ethnic art forms such as Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song, Hue Ho singing, Xam singing, etc. have gradually become alien to the young Vietnamese generation.
ACTION NEEDED TO CONSERVE AND KEEP PRICELESS CULTURAL VALUES
We can see the fact that: In terms of economy and politics, we may not be able to compete with the great powers of the five continents, but in terms of cultural values, Vietnam is always proud to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. cradle of human culture.
